Note from the Editor
Several readers expressed a desire for holding KDD-03 conference in
Europe. Please note that KDD-2003 is the main North American-based
conference on Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery. There are several
European-based meetings on data mining, including
PKDD-01, Principles of Knowledge Discovery in
Databases, which was recently held in Freiburg, Germany; Sep 3-7,
2001. See KDnuggets Meetings Calendar
for a full schedule of data mining meetings in Europe and
world-wide.

Washington. I think it is important, especially in light of recent
terrorism attacks, that the DM community pays more attention to the
problems of the government.
-
Toronto.

There are many thirty-something data miners in the Northeast USA, some
with small children that cannot fly cross-country for 3-4 days for
theses conferences. It should be in the Northeast every other year.
-
Buenos Aires (Argentina) is a lovely city, and had a small but active
Data Mining community.
-
Durban, South Africa.
-
