PMSA 2003 invites submissions from members of the pharmaceutical industry on any topic reflecting applications of management science in the pharmaceutical industry. Possible topics include (but are not limited to):
* Drug Discovery * Pipeline and New Candidate Management * New Product Launches * Optimizing the Marketing Mix * Sales Force Effectiveness * International Marketing * Managed Care * Direct-to-Consumer Advertising * Resource Allocation * Outcomes Research
Based on feedback from last year’s conference we would like to emphasize the following topics in the 2003 conference:
* Patient Level Data-- New Sources and Applications * Media Planning, Buying and Strategy * Product Portfolio Analysis * Field Force Size and Strategy
Potential speakers are invited to submit a two-page to four-page (preferably Word document) abstract that clearly outlines the topic, methodology, data sources and uses pharma industry examples. Due to the increasing number of submissions selection of abstracts is competitive. The criteria for judging will include (but will not be limited to):
* Clear identification of the pharma problem/issue * Methodology: define data and models * Real world pharma examples * Conclusions with takeaways for audience.
In 2002 fewer than half of the abstracts submitted were accepted.
Submission deadline for abstracts: Friday November 1, 2002.
Authors will be contacted by: Friday January 10, 2003.
