We have an NSF initiative in sensor networks (which includes sensor information management). This is a joint initiative between Engineering and CISE directorates. Here are the URLs:

Please send proposals to this initiative. The deadline is March 6, 2003. We will be having periodic meetings at NSF to discuss the initiative. I will send a reminder sometime next month together with any additional information I may have.
