The Customer Research & Strategies (CRS) team is an entrepreneurial environment within Fireman's Fund. It is a project-oriented group, similar to a consulting organization, where they are customer-driven. The team is seen as providing the strategic competence of the company's Customer Focus Transformation. They work with internal clients, providing key information for making decisions about product development. Their analytics are used to create strategies, which are then followed through to implementation. This is a high visibility team leading a corporate strategy. The Vice President of the group is accountable to the senior management team, a part of the Corporate Marketing Council, and the head of the global CRM advisory group for Allianz.

As a Modeling Project Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, development, execution and implementation of analytic services and predictive models in support of claims handling, marketing, pricing and underwriting operations. This position provides an opportunity to rotate to various departments within Customer Research & Strategies.

Specific responsibilities include:

Aggregate and integrate large volumes of data from disparate systems and sources into analytic data sets using SAS. Combine your extensive statistical expertise with business knowledge gathered from subject matter experts to derive meaningful relationships from the data. Organize and present findings in a way that is understandable and useful to end users at all levels in the company.

Requirements:

  • Significant work experience in the field of predictive modeling or "data mining"
  • Bachelor's degree required; Graduate degree in applied statistics or related field preferred.
  • Academic and practical experience applying the statistical methods used in data mining such as OLS regression, logistic regression, clustering techniques, data reduction techniques, CART/CHAID.
  • Mastery of statistical and analytic software specifically SAS.
  • Knowledge of database management systems; particularly DB2 and SQL.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in insurance marketing, underwriting, or actuarial environment strongly preferred.
  • Ability to select, evaluate, cleanse, tabulate and format credible and unbiased data from in-house, vendor, government, and publicly available sources.
  • Strong project management skills; capable of planning and allocating resources; ability to direct, develop, and motivate peers in the delivery of projects, highly flexible for rapid consultant-style work interruption and re-prioritization for delivering value to executive sponsors on an as requested basis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work both as part of a team and individually.
