CNET Networks (www.cnet.com) has opening for a manager and architect for decision support systems. This position oversees site activity reporting for a top 10 internet site.

Responsible for MicroStrategy reporting infrastructure, report requirements gathering, development and support for 300 user reporting environment, and a small team of engineers. Works closely with a research department and business analysts. Ideal candidate will bring novel approaches to decision support to take a key role in designing and redesigning corporate decision support systems.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years Microstrategy Architecture and dev experience, certification a plus
• Several years experience in project requirements gathering and DSA design, and support for research and analytics
• Thorough understanding of dimensional modeling, and principles of data warehouse design
• Several years experience with very large (1TB+) DB systems associated with data warehousing (Oracle, DB2, or Teradata)
• Experience with Web based reporting environments in PHP, Java, CGI, and general HTML development experience, good understanding of HTTP protocol
• 2+ years experience as a manager or team leader
• Excellent communication skills, experience with end-user support
• Strong SQL skills, and Oracle 8i, 9i (or 10g) experience a plus
• ETL (Microstrategy, DataStage, or DTS) experience
• Experience with LINUX/UNIX OS, scripting and shell environment a plus
• Experience conducting trainings a plus
