The Technical Specialist position will be a member of our Knowledge Engineering team. The incumbent will be responsible for understanding business policies via interviews with subject matter experts from both our business and IT organizations. The business rules or policies will subsequently be translated into a rule-based system, such as Authorete.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Position

The primary role and responsibility of the Technical Specialist is to participate in proof-of-concepts currently underway to better understand the potential benefits and limitations of various technologies.

The Technical Specialist will:

• Work on a multi-disciplinary team responsible" for the elaboration of business rules for key Speed to Market and Specialty Pharmacy initiatives
• Actively participate on a small team of application" developers and knowledge architects to address key business priorities that will benefit from rule-based development, in lieu of a traditional procedural code based solutions
• Lead or conduct design reviews / code reviews, including" documenting system requirements /specifications for a rule-based framework
• Collaborate with the Knowledge Architecture group on the construction of an enterprise semantic web framework using W3C standards (e.g., OWL)

• B.S. degree in Computer Science or related" field or equivalent business experience
• Experience in CLIPS, Authorete is a" plus
• Experience in knowledge representation spanning multiple domains or" viewpoints, e.g. cross divisional, or across I.T. and business functions
• Minimum of 5 years experience with development of rules based systems using an inference engine with experience deploying in business critical or high volume situations
• Minimum of 3 years experience managing development teams
• Minimum of 2 years business analysis and re-engineering experience
• Minimum of 3 years project management experience
• Excellent written and verbal" communication skills

• Experience in system development life cycle using the RUP methodology
• Degree in a knowledge science such as Linguistics
• Graduate degree in a field related to" Artificial Intelligence
• Knowledge of OWL/RDF
• Experience in both on-line transaction processing (OLTP) and data warehousing or business intelligence applications
• Experience in healthcare industry is a plus.
