Provide data mining and text mining services to business units based on various data sources, including MSN usage data, subscription data, and external data. Provide complete solutions to business problems using data analysis, data mining techniques, text mining methodologies, and statistics. Projects may include case study, methodology research, tool evaluation, model development, prototyping, and deployment. Serve or grow into Subject Matter Expert on user profiling, behavior targeting, and/or data profiling.

Qualifications:
Experience working with real data sets to solve business problems involving data analysis, data mining, and text mining, especially involving internet data mining

Broad experience in applying data mining techniques, neural networks, statistics, pattern recognition, nonlinear optimization, genetic algorithms, text mining, and information retrieval to real-world data

Familiarity with data analysis tools, data mining tools, text mining and information retrieval methodologies, and statistical packages

Superior communications skills, both verbal and written

Ability to work independently and research innovative solutions to challenging technical problems

Attention to details and data accuracy

Expertise with large business data sets

Good scripting and rapid prototyping skills, for example, fluency in one of the following: C/C++, SQL or Perl

PhD (preferred) or MS degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent is required for this position
