Subject: New Version of YALE (Yet Another Learning Environment)

we would like to introduce the new version 2.4.1 of YALE (Yet Another Learning Environment) to you:

http://yale.cs.uni-dortmund.de

YALE is a flexible and modular Java environment for machine learning experiments and data mining applications. The experimental setup can be easily described in a simple XML format or designed with the intuitive graphical user interface (GUI). Yale can be easily extended and integrated into your own application.

Features of YALE

  • Graphical User Interface (GUI) for interactively designing and monitoring experiments.
  • New online Tutorial available in help menu.
  • online Visualization & data exploration & zooming
  • Export formats include PS, PDF, GNUPlot, GIF, JPEG, and raw data export.
  • WEKA 3.4.3 now fully integrated into YALE, i.e. no separate download and installation of WEKA necessary.
  • new machine learning algorithms
  • feature selection, generation, and weighting operators
  • several data preprocessing and performance evaluation operators
  • ROC plotting and threshold finder, which can deliver AUC (area under the ROC curve).
  • In- and output: flexible operators for data in- and output, support of several file formats including ARFF, C4.5, csv, BibTeX, dBase, sparse format, text collections, audio files, and reading directly from databases.
YALE Plugins

YALE provides an easy to use extension and plugin mechanism that makes it possible to integrate new operators and adapt YALE to your personal requirements. The YALE web site already provides plugins for Clustering, Value Series Preprocessing, and Word Vector Creation.

Best regards,
Ingo Mierswa and Ralf Klinkenberg
