The Intelligent Data Analysis & Modeling Group of the Department Intelligent Vision & Reasoning has an opening for a Research Scientist. In this position, the candidate will be conducting leading-edge research and development related to data analysis and modeling for medical and industrial applications.

Responsibilities of the position include investigation, development, prototyping, specification, implementation, optimization, and enhancements of tools and algorithms. Areas of interest include pattern recognition, machine learning, statistics, classification, feature extraction, data mining, predictive modeling, time-series analysis and information fusion.

Ideal candidates will have a Ph.D. in CS or related fields with a proven record in research, innovative thinking, real world problem solving and fast prototyping. Candidates should have C/C++ or Java proficiency on MS Windows platform. Experience in developing data analysis applications in a field such as bio-informatics, computer vision, industrial and medical diagnosis and monitoring, or predictive maintenance will be a big plus. Candidates need to have strong interpersonal skills, be able to work independently on problems, be an effective team player and be willing to accept challenge and responsibility.
