Responsibilities
A seasoned, Data Analyst/Data Architect is needed to work closely with
Director Data Management in the Information Warehouse group of a leading
financial services organization. The consultant's main responsibility will
be to work closely with business and technical users to support the data
management function. The consultant will be expected to bring expertise in
process and methodology and to collaborate with peers and share ideas
synergistically.
The consultant will be expected to work for 3-6 months. Project will be full
time, on site, in San Francisco.
Value to the Client
The consultant's data management experience and ability to work within a
team environment will contribute to the overall success of the projects,
driving of the group's strategic direction.
Industry Experience
Knowledge of financial services and brokerage industry is helpful.
Affiliation with DAMA or other similarly recognized data management
associations is a plus.
Functional Experience
- Must have 6+ years IT experience with a focus on data and data management
- Direct Marketing and Financial Marketing experience
- Needs to have experience working with a range of DBMS systems and in
different operating environments
- Must have a strong customer service focus
- Must be able to communicate with users at all levels of the
organization-especially the business, understand the impact of change and
communicate back to all impacted areas
- Should be detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks at one time
Technical qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in mainframe and/or distributed technology with at
least 5 of those years in data warehousing, data marts, and data
architecture for business intelligence
- Hands on project experience in data requirements management, data
analysis, data modeling, dataflow design, and metadata administration is
required
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to translate
complex business intelligence requirements into logical/physical data models
- Must have successfully participated in the deployment and support of a
large, complex data warehouse/data mart, containing millions of records with
up to 7 terabytes of data
- Must be familiar with a variety of computing environments and software,
including mainframe (OS/390), DB2, Oracle, UNIX, and Windows NT/Server 200.
