SAS voted Best Data Mining and Text Mining Tool by Intelligent Enterprise Readers

CARY, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 11, 2005--Subscribers of CMP Media's Intelligent Enterprise magazine have named SAS the winner of four individual categories in its eighth annual Readers' Choice Awards for Best IT Products. SAS, the leader in business intelligence, is the world's largest privately held software company.

The magazine's 80,000-plus subscribers selected SAS as the winner in four individual categories: Best Data Mining Toolset (SAS(R) Enterprise Miner(TM)); Best Text Mining Toolset (SAS Text Miner, tied with IBM); Best Statistical Analysis Toolset (SAS/STAT(R)); and Best Web/Clickstream Analytics (SAS Web Analytics).

SAS also received the highest overall Customer Satisfaction Score from readers in this year's voting, tied with a product from Salesforce.com, for SAS Web Analytics. Readers gave SAS an 87 percent satisfaction score for SAS Web Analytics, finishing tied for the highest percentage of satisfaction than all other products evaluated among 39 technology categories.

Voting was open exclusively to Intelligent Enterprise subscribers - C-level executives, IT directors and top applications development managers, among others - who shared opinions about their criteria for purchasing strategic software.
