Our Business Information Group supplies data for reporting and analytic support to key business units. We are seeking a senior engineer for our Data Engineering team, which optimizes and maintains an ETL system for capturing and processing all revenue and analytic data from the company's worldwide operations. Primary focus is given to maintaining high service levels. Team members are also responsible optimizing processes to scale up with the amount of traffic as well as adding new product features and processes.

This individual will also be expected to understand how applications interact and improve upon them with performance enhancements as well as implementing new requirements or modifying existing ones. The main function of the position requires a high level of versatility, adaptability and well-developed diagnostic and trouble-shooting skills.

Basic qualifications:

• Works under general direction from senior management to achieve business objectives.
• Contribute to timely identification and correction of issues impacting the business.
• Responsible for working with and coordinating the necessary development and technical operations teams to solve application performance, security, and stability issues.
• Plan, develop, deploy new functionality and configurations with extremely minimal disruption to the business operations.
• Ability to solve problems quickly and automate processes as applicable
• Database administration experience
• Solid knowledge of networking principles
• Strong understanding of SQL and relational database principles, especially Oracle
• Demonstrated ability dealing with a dynamic environment, extreme flexibility, multiple priorities, and problem solving
• Provide leadership and mentoring for other members of the team
• Communicate clearly and collaborate with other team members
• Capable of writing proposals/project outlines and working closely with upper management

• 4-6+ years experience in Perl/shell scripting in a Unix/Linux environment, preferably with respect to automation and data manipulation.
• 2-3+ years experience in a relational database product preferably Oracle
• 2-3+ years experience in c/c++
• Bachelor's degree minimum in Computer Science or related field
