Job description:
Over the last year, Yahoo! Research has established itself as a premier
research organization for one of the world's most prominent Internet
companies. Our core research includes computer science and machine
learning. We are currently focused on building a strong statistical
team as we believe statistics plays a major role in enhancing Yahoo!
technology and shaping the future of the Internet. The statistical
problems that arise in the context of internet advertising and search
provide unique opportunities for conducting novel statistical research
that can potentially lead to the creation of new disciplines both in
theoretical and applied statistics.
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants must have a PhD in Statistics and be able to make major,
widely-recognized contributions to statistics research in the areas of
theory, methods, computing, and data analysis while at the same time
have a profound impact on Yahoo! technology working closely with
people in business. We are looking for statisticians with a strong
background in theoretical statistics and passionate about working on
applied problems involving massive amounts of data.
