Subject: Seattle, WA: Principal Scientist at Inrix

Do you have a proven track record of developing scientific/analytical insights to tough problems? Looking for a top-tier startup to utilize your experience with large data sets? Inrix is a venture-backed startup founded by former Microsoft executives that has raised $16M in funding from Bain Capital, Venrock Associates and August Capital.

Inrix addresses the need for real-time and predictive traffic information nationwide across a variety of platforms, devices and distribution channels. Their goal is to save time for individuals and businesses by providing them with critical, predictive traffic-related information. They accomplish this by literally predicting the future - using powerful and intelligent Bayesian statistical analysis models integrated with real-time traffic information and a variety of other variables to tell people not only what traffic is like right now, but also what traffic conditions will be like in the future - and how to best avoid the trouble spots.

Inrix provides this revolutionary traffic information industry through combining data from public DOT sensors, cellular phone probes, and Inrix' proprietary Smart Dust Network currently comprising more than 600,000 GPS-enabled probe vehicles and unique intellectual property exclusively licensed from Microsoft Research. Inrix's technology is live across 92 US metropolitan markets, and has put together many high profile customer/partners such as: BMW, Clear Channel, TeleAtlas, and many more.
