About the Analytics Director Position
If you aspire to apply analytic expertise to large data sets created by millions of consumers across several products in multiple channels to significantly to grow businesses, we have an opportunity for you.

The Analytics Director is a key leader on the Business Intelligence team and works cross-functionally with various product and marketing teams to analyze user and application behavior, and develop executable action plans. Key customers you will interface with include mobile carriers, private label partners, internal executives (strategy & mission), product and marketing managers and engineering.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct world-class statistical analyses to aid business decision making.
  • Assist the Product team with defining key metrics for product success and developing business cases (including ROI); financial justification for new service offerings and enhancements; identify new product opportunities through data interpretation, optimize for yield and relevance, set benchmarks, and analytically establish KPI's.
  • Gather business and learning objectives, identifying the key measures, approach, and methodologies, including data sources, for delivering success against objectives.
  • Develop best practice approaches for analyzing user behavior as well as general tracking set-up, and data interpretation.
  • Lead the analytics team, and develop internal talent for analytics.
  • Participate in the design and requirements process making sure all required metrics are built into the systems.
  • Collaborate with University researchers to produce white papers showcasing value propositions to industry analysts.
  • Develop user segmentations across Web and mobile audiences, ensuring segments are connected to the actionable levers in each business.
  • Conduct campaign analysis across display, SEO, SEM programs, leveraging customer segmentations and profiles to maximize and measure retention, and lifetime value.
  • Must be able to assimilate research measures of perceived relevance and marry those to internal data points, defining key levers to increase relevancy.
  • Develop yield maximization models utilizing numerous content sources, each with various values and profiles.
  • Manage test methodologies, criteria, and post data collection analysis.

  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to directly communicate and participate in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent ability to analytically derive business levers.
  • Highly proficient at analyzing and interpreting data from various internal and external sources, turning the data into knowledge, and translating the knowledge into effective and actionable plans.
  • Must have knowledge regarding website design and its impact on the customer experience (e.g. features, content, and navigation).
  • Skilled at applying scientific method to analytics.
  • Must be able to think strategically, tying together customer needs, product designs, and data analysis.
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
Required Education and Experience:
  • MS or Ph. D in one of the quantitative fields is required. Ph. D or MBA is preferred.
  • 7 years or more experience in online data analysis or online information products with preference given to search engine usage and relevancy analysis.
  • Solid knowledge of Data Warehousing systems and managing large data sets, demonstrated SAS analytic expertise, and Excel required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
