We are currently looking for a Director, Decision Support - this position will be based out of either Irving, TX or San Antonio, TX (depending on the candidate). Travel of up to 2 days / 3 nights will be required regardless of final location of position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (in priority order):

Summary

The Director, Decision Support is a highly visible, on-site position dedicated to AT&T (minimum 3 days/2 nights in San Antonio). This newly created position focuses on key service elements for all analytics engagements. This includes synthesizing insight from multiple data sources and providing analytics consulting to all levels of the client's management.

The Director, Decision Support, will have immediate in-depth exposure to, and interaction with, the full breadth and depth of Javelin's analytic suite and organization. From a client perspective, s/he will be heavily involved with a cross-section of client decision-makers including Marketing, Advertising and Finance. Key client business issues to be addressed include: campaign tracking and reporting, Knowledgebase and Scorecards, marketing mix modeling, data integration, database, and new business opportunities. As Javelin continues to strengthen the client's direct mail and interactive marketing strategies (especially with the recent merger), the Director will leverage their analytics savvy and overall business acumen to create and convey insight with the potential to truly revolutionize client business strategy and growth.

This role will immediately be charged with helping to strengthen existing, and building new cross-functional client/inter-Javelin and agency partnerships. S/he will also work to identify and prioritize additional client business issues and work closely with the VP Decision Support and VP Marketing to develop and execute a strategy around the delivery of multi-faceted client insights grounded on Javelin's unique and influential analytics platform.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Tie contractual and custom solutions to critical client issues.
  • Manage revenue--Effectively sell modeling, panel and testing.
  • Maintain close alignment with key Javelin groups: Client Services, Brand Planning, Operations.
  • Seek out and engage learning opportunities / apply key learnings.
  • Using team resources, design and present analytical initiatives to the client.
  • Other cross-agency projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or equivalent required; graduate / advanced degree highly preferred.
  • 5-10 years experience solving business issues with the consultative application of database modeling and testing techniques as well as marketing mix modeling.
  • Experience delivering insight to internal or external clients by building a technical foundation that includes deep understanding of multi-channel target marketing and optimization in direct mail and/or interactive marketing.
  • In-depth knowledge of quantitative analysis and ability to provide intuitive plain language understanding to clients.
  • An uncanny ability to synthesize multiple data types into a compelling client vision / action plan.
  • Demonstrated conceptual selling skills in identifying client issues / problems and developing proposals to meet client needs; track record in growing revenue from client relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership acumen within client relationships and for direct reports and cross-functional project teams.
  • Position requires 2 days / 3 nights minimum in San Antonio and/or Dallas - travel destination will be the opposite of residence area.
