Note from the Editor
Compared to 2005 KDnuggets Poll on
Types of data you analyzed/mined in last 12 months,
the biggest increase was in
anonymized data - from 11% in 2005 to 25% of respondents in 2006 (perhaps and indicator of increasing importance of privacy issues).
There was a small decline in percentage analyzing
table data (from 82% to 71%), but it still remained the leading data type.
Data types with significant drop in percentage were:
- web content percentage dropped from 15% in 2005 to 5.7% in 2006
- web clickstream percentage dropped from 17% to 8.5%.
- XML data percentage dropped from 13 to 6.6%.
Other types of data did not significantly change their percentages.
