Use data mining tools to analyze network and security data and build a working prototype for security analysts. The goal of the project is prove that the technology can discover previously unknown attacks, and attacks that would not be built into security systems otherwise.

Work with other team members and customers to mine network and host transactions in search of new attacks. Describe data, process, and findings with significance of findings to team leader and 'customers'. As Sr. Data Miner, serve as data mining lead on Solutions Implementation team . Includes data analysis as well as pattern discovery and definition.

BA/BS or equivalent with, 3+ years of experience in the software industry with large scale data mining/knowledge discovery/pattern recognition project with implementing responsibilities; knowledge of data mining/statistical analysis techniques; artificial intelligence and /or pattern recognition techniques; experience with relational data bases, SQL and data manipulation; information security understanding and/or experience especially related to systematic analysis of patterns and behavior. Experience with clustering, link analysis, visualization, sequence analysis.

Project lead/team management experience desired; knows or has desire to learn the language of network security and intrusions, network protocols, operating systems, firewalls, routers, intrusion detection systems, and sniffers .
