WizDoc is a concept-based search engine embedded in websites. WizDoc operates in two stages: (a) the indexing stage where the website pages are indexed and archived and (b) the searching stage where the visitor can enter his search query and WizDoc retrieves pages that are relevant to the query's topic minimizing misses and false alarms.

WizDoc enables searching by two methods: (a) concept-based search and (b) string search.

WizDoc has a number of important advantages and unique features compared to other text mining tools:

• Concept-based search: WizDoc interprets the meaning of queries in natural language and disambiguates words having several meanings. It automatically reveals keywords and calculates the amount of information in each keyword. It expands the query by using a thesaurus and displays the relevancy level of each page in the results report.
• String search: WizDoc supports Boolean operators and searches for the sequence of words. It finds cases where the sequence of words in the text is identical to or similar to the sequence of words in the query. It displays the number of times the query was found in each page.
• Checks the spelling of the words and names in the query and displays all the phonetically similar words or names on discovering a misspelled word.
• WizDoc archiving process module is fully automatic (just one click). A built-in spider automatically reveals all the pages included in the site and displays a list of them. When new pages are added, incremental archiving is supported. The archiving process can be manually fine-tuned. The dictionary and the thesaurus can be updated.

WizDoc for websites is used as a search tool linked to a particular website. WizDoc-archiving-process module indexes the web pages and saves the archives in a relational database (MS Access or MS SQL). Then WizDoc-search module is embedded in this particular website and the visitors can enter their search query in natural language and find what they are searching for.
