MANTAS, INC., LAUNCHES AT MAJOR BANKING AND SECURITIES INDUSTRIES CONFERENCES - $15 Million in Funding Supports Knowledge Discovery Company - - Appointment of David Fishman as Marketing Leader -

Fairfax, VA, Washington, D.C., New York, N.Y. June 19, 2001 - Mantas, Inc., a knowledge discovery company providing business intelligence solutions for exchanges and the financial services industry, this week announces its launch at the American Bankers Association Regulatory Compliance Show, June 17-20, in Washington, D.C., and the Securities Industry Association Technology Management Conference and Exhibit, June 19-21, in New York City.

As part of its launch, Mantas will unveil its knowledge discovery technology and launch its new Web site, www.mantas.com, as well as announce the appointment of its new Marketing Leader, David Fishman. Supporting Mantas' technology and service growth is $15 million from its first round of funding, which closed late last month. Mantas is the first spin-off of SRA Ventures, LLC, a joint venture company formed by SRA International, Inc., an information technology consulting and systems integration firm, and Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. (NYSE:SFE), a leader in developing and operating emerging infrastructure technology companies.
