Software Design Engineer in Test

Core Job Responsibilities:

The position involves working closely with program managers, developers and testers to shape Microsoft's next generation of data mining features. You would be responsible for reviewing specs; creating test plans; and designing, developing, maintaining and executing tests, mostly at the API level. This position requires a high level of technical and mathematical expertise.

Recommended Qualifications:

• A Master's degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics or similar experience is required.

• The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, two or more years of experience in data analysis, experience in software testing, experience with one or more relational database management systems, and significant C/C++, C# coding skills.

• Experience with one or more of the following technologies and products is a big plus: Data Mining, OLE DB and ADO, XML.

• Due to the rapidly changing nature of some of the technologies involved, the capacity to learn fast and adapt is also key.
