Preliminary Program:

The NGDM'02 workshop will focus on the following areas:

1) Data Mining for Pervasive, Distributed, and Stream Applications 2) Data mining for Counter-terrorism 3) Scientific Data Mining 4) The Web, Semantics, and Data Mining

The preliminary list of speakers includes Vipin Kumar (UMN), Jiawei Han (UIUC), Christos Faloutsos (CMU), Jeff Ullman (Stanford), Chris Clifton (Purdue), Johannes Gherke (Cornell), John R. James (US Military Academy), Kenneth D. Mandl (Harvard Medical School), Steve Kornguth (UT Austin), Mohammed Zaki (RPI), Nabil Adam (Rutgers), Alex Szley (Johns Hopkins), Jaideep Srivastava (UMN), Joydeep Ghosh (UT Austin), Lee Giles (Penn State), Mike Pazzani (UCI), and others. We are expecting an attractive group of panels comprised of researchers, practitioners, and policy makers from academia, industry, and governmental organizations (NSF, NASA, DARPA, NSA, NIH, and others). We will also have a session for posters and demos.
