Boston, Mass. - Bio-ITWorld Conference & Expo - March 28, 2003 - AnVil, Inc., a pioneer in life sciences discovery, was honored with a "Best in Show" Award for its innovative AnVil Data Analysis Platform Technology (ADAPT) at this year's Bio-ITWorld Conference & Expo in Boston. The award was given to AnVil at a ceremony at the Hynes Convention Center.

AnVil's extensible analytic software application, ADAPT, was selected as the winner of the Supporting Applications category, for its contributions to help streamline and accelerate the drug discovery and development process. ADAPT facilitates efficient analysis of clinical, genomic, proteomic, cheminformatic and other life sciences data. ADAPT also provides access to data analysis primitives (statistics, machine learning, data filtering, visualizations, etc.) while allowing users to develop higher level functionality on top of those primitives.

ADAPT was developed to support AnVil's analytic team in servicing AnVil's healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and genomics clients. The software platform is one component of AnVil's unique offering which includes access to a wide range of genomics and healthcare data (including hospital, pharmacy, transplant and insurance data), a strong, science-based analytic team (including medical doctors, biologists and chemists in addition to data miners and informaticists), and supporting technology.
