Description

The Data Innovation Team within the Pfizer Business Technology and Information Science department has been newly created to enhance the company�s ability to understand and capitalize on data. Our mission is to discover and distribute actionable information to the right Pfizer colleagues at the right time. We assist the sales and marketing organizations in developing strategies for our leading health care products. We are regularly involved in projects leveraging behavior-based customer segmentation, pattern recognition, trend detection, exception reporting, and decision support tools. You will work with a variety of client teams, where you will develop expertise in the business functions, data sources and problem solving tools.

Specific responsibilities of the Data Innovation Team include: Leveraging integrated customer views for enhanced understanding of customers and for creating decision support tools; Reducing analytical burden by discovering trends and exceptions from massive data sets, and presenting in context for further analysis or decisions; Novel behavior-based segmentation, including describing distinct customer behaviors and suggesting groups for further study or targeting; Consulting with client teams and other functional departments (e.g. market research) to solve business-driven problems; Expanding the use of data mining and data visualization techniques throughout Pfizer Management retains the right to change the job specifications and provisions of this job as appropriate.

Requirements

Candidates must have 3 or more years excelling in a collaborative business environment. A Masters, Ph.D., or other relevant advanced degree in a quantitative or technical discipline is preferred. Strong expertise is needed in applying data mining or visualization to sales or marketing, in particular customer relationship management. Background in healthcare or pharmaceuticals is preferred but not required. Candidates should be motivated, strong leaders who can lead tough decision-making and organize/manage several activities at one. Candidates should have demonstrated ability identifying opportunities based on client needs, quickly prioritizing problem design solutions, and managing implementation processes. With minimal assistance candidates should be able to predict future IT needs and champion IT solutions to the business. Top performers in current positions are encouraged to apply.
