Job Description
The Boeing Company's Data & Text Mining group is seeking candidates with excellent skills in both applied research and in consulting. Our work focuses on providing data mining support to the Boeing Company and to Boeing's customers by assessing and adapting existing methods, and by creating new technology solutions. Boeing's data mining team involves more than a dozen people with a wide variety of backgrounds; including statistics, machine learning, databases, and text analysis. We form small project teams to address data analysis needs from groups from all over The Boeing Company including mining of data from aircraft maintenance, marketing, suppliers, manufacturing, assembly, engineering tests, flight data, network communications, and government contracts. These projects motivate our research activities to create new analysis methods to meet our customers� needs. An ideal candidate would be able to conduct applied research and development projects as well as work with engineers and end-users to define creative data mining solutions to complex problems.

Required Skills

• Broad knowledge of data mining methodologies commonly used in industry
• Experience in developing data mining methodologies
• Experience in applying data mining techniques in diverse projects
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and data mining software
• Ability to analyze and present results in both visual and written reports
• Experience in consulting with non-mining experts, e.g. engineers, managers
• Show valuable research experience through the relevance of their publications
• Great enthusiasm, excellent communication skills
• Must be eligible for security clearance (US citizen)
