Marketing Analytics
Strategy Development - New Accounts and Customer Development
Position Duties
The Marketing Analyst position will focus on analytic support for strategy
development in New Accounts Acquisitions or Customer Development. The
Marketing Analyst will provide guidance on marketing decisions through
analyses of test results, identifying trends/opportunities, and exploratory
analyses. He/she will work with Marketing, Credit, Finance and Modeling
Teams in assessing opportunities to move the business forward.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations
Research, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Econometrics or related quantitative fields
- 1-2 years experience working in an analytic or quantitative field, preferably in the bankcard industry
- Previous experience with SAS and SQL is mandatory. Oracle, Informix and UNIX experience a plus
- Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
POSITION SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Technical/Business knowledge:
The Marketing Analyst will have thorough
understanding of analytic, operational and technical concepts to
perform standard analytic projects; Uses broad technical and business
knowledge to complete non-standard work activities. May lead smaller
internal projects.
Decision-making/Problem solving:
Exercises judgment within generally
defined practices in selecting methods of solving complex problems.
Detects anomalies in data and forms testable hypotheses to resolve
questions. Explores hypotheses independently showing appropriate
discretion for when to proceed or discuss with project/team leader.
Effectively distinguishes between problems of major and minor
significance. Forms recommendations for resolving issues and
discusses with project leaders and peers.
Communications/Influence:
Clearly communicates in written and oral format;
regularly asks questions to clarify information; presents information
and answers concisely and completely. Begins to focus on key findings
or questions, judiciously chooses supporting evidence to share
without overwhelming audience with data.
Leadership/Teamwork:
Manages own time successfully; Re-prioritizes tasks as
needed. Provides feedback to managers on goal/task completion; may
oversee work of less experienced staff. Successfully contributes to
project team; Develops collegial relationships with others of various
levels throughout the company.
Business/Industry Acumen:
Understand the company's business and how this
impacts work processes and deliverables; familiar with industry and
competitors. Understands the company's business model.
