Subject: Poll results: real-time data for predictions of consumer behavior

The previous KDnuggets Poll asked:
Does real-time data improve predictions of consumer behavior ?

While this is an important research topics, only a limited number of people seem to have actual experience with it.

About half of the respondents reported no experience with real-time data, and of those who did, about half reported moderate improvement, and a quarter - significant improvement.

Greg James commented that "understanding behavior at transaction-level is an order of magnitide more complex than summary data; maturity using behavioral data can be observed as one moves from reactionary to contemporary to anticipatory models and actions".
