Subject: Chicago, IL: Visiting Research Scientist at the National Center for Data Mining, UIC

The National Center for Data Mining at the University of Illinois at Chicago is looking for a visiting research scientist in the field of bioinformatics to work on a project involving proteomics data that is sponsored by the Chicago Biomedical Consortium (CBC), which is a research collaboration between the University of Illinois at Chicago, the University of Chicago, and Northwestern University. The project will be building a repository and portal for mass spectroscopy data, based upon open source software that we are developing. We are especially interested in scientists with a desire to contribute to this open source infrastructure.

Expected Job period: December 16, 2005 � December 15, 2006. Start date has flexibility.

A Ph.D. or equivalent, in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Mathematics or a related field and a strong research background is preferred. Demonstrated ability to keep current in the field is necessary. Published articles in the scientific literature are desirable.
