Awarded $150,000 IPG Grant from Governor BlagojevichUniversity of Illinois born start-up company receives grant from the nation's first state-funded program dedicated to improve Homeland Security Products CHAMPAIGN, January 23, 2006 - Gov. Blagojevich announced his support for Illinois' leadership in the Homeland Security Industry last week by awarding grants to help develop high-tech homeland security products and create 40 new jobs in Illinois. $150,000 of the grant, along with revenue from new business, will allow RiverGlass Inc.'s Champaign office to hire more software developers who will be used to accelerate the commercial release of RiverGlass products and technology. RiverGlass booked its first million-dollar contract in November of 2005 with the Illinois State Police. The State Police will be able to speed up analysis of crime data using RiverGlass Inc.'s real-time text and data analytics technologies. These technologies can also be beneficial to other industries such as financial services, market intelligence, network security, and other branches of homeland security.
