I received request from Daniela Cargnin, MS student in Brazil, who is working on dissertation related to the process of Data Mining.

We frequently need to do transformation on the data. For example, we may have information on the transaction level but we want to model on the level of the client behavior.

This requires aggregation, and creation of variables like

• count of transactions in the past month
• total purchases in the last month
• etc ...

Are there publications on good methodology for transaction aggregation ?
