This individual will be an energetic and results-driven sales engineer with a strong background in data mining and data analysis applications. This person will be a strong and outgoing communicator, well-organized, and with experience in real-world applications of data mining techniques, preferably in the sales and marketing analysis, CRM, or finance fields. The successful person will be self-motivated, pragmatic and solution oriented. He/she will be able to take on multiple tasks, projects and responsibilities without losing focus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This individual will work closely with sales, professional services, and product management for technical and detailed pre- and post-sales contact, to deliver technical sales tools and live sales support to our North American sales organization in support of large software and service opportunities. You will be an integral member of demonstrations, implementations and deployments, channel partners, trade shows, events and seminars. Travel will be required.

This includes:

• Help technically qualify and close large software and service opportunities, especially in the areas of sales and marketing analysis, CRM, and finance.
• Facilitate and participate in customer implementations.
• Identify and develop demos and solutions targeted at these specific market areas, working closely with product management.

• 5+ years of data mining experience, with a minimum of 2+ years experience as a sales engineer or consultant, and a proven track record in supporting complex sales cycles.
• Experience in developing and presenting technical subject matter and strong technical knowledge of data mining and data analysis.
• Superior client communications skills.
• Knowledge of commercial data mining packages is a must, as is good commercial awareness.
• Competency in databases (Oracle, SQL), programming languages (Java), operating systems (Windows (2000,2003), UNIX, Linux) is an asset.
