Subject: McLean, VA: Artificial Intelligence / Data Mining Engineer (US citizenship required) at MITRE

MITRE's Center for Innovative Computing and Informatics has multiple senior roles available in the Information Discovery and Understanding Department. The Information Discovery and Understanding Department is responsible for both application and research across a broad range of AI technologies: data mining, natural language process, human centered design, learning and intelligent systems, and information semantics.

MITRE is looking for Artificial Intelligence Engineers with strong expertise and background in Data Mining technologies. These leadership roles will be responsible for research, design, prototype and support intelligent information processing applications with primary focus on data mining components and integration and evaluation of Machine Learning and statistical analysis technologies.

Education/Experience

  • Minimum: BS or equivalent and 5 years of related experience; or MS or equivalent and 3 years of related experience; or PhD and 1 year of related experience.
  • Preferred: Masters in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or Statistics and 5+ years of relevant experience; BS or equivalent and 7 years of experience; or PhD and 5 years of related experience
Skills
  • Deep skills in data mining - statistical classification models, clustering, time series data, handling huge data sets, etc.
  • Ability and desire to lead technical project teams.
  • Ability and desire to meet with customers, understand their needs, and generate appropriate, innovative technical solutions.
  • Programming ability is highly desirable: C++, Java, Perl, Unix/Linux, and Windows.
