Tripos Announces Support for Open-Source Workflow Software

Preview Version of the Tripos Chemistry Extensions for the KNIME Open-Source Workflow Platform Now Available

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 2006--Tripos, Inc. (Nasdaq:TRPS - News), a leading provider of drug discovery informatics products and chemistry research, today announced plans to support a robust open-source workflow platform developed by researchers at the University of Konstanz, Germany. A preview version of the Tripos Chemistry Extensions package for the KNIME open-source workflow platform is being made available today via download from the Tripos corporate Web site at

The KNIME platform, developed by Prof. Michael R. Berthold and his colleagues at the University of Konstanz, will enable Tripos' customers to visually create and execute scientific workflows based upon a combination of Tripos and third-party discovery informatics products. The Tripos Chemistry Extensions package introduces "chemical intelligence" to the highly extensible KNIME platform, providing researchers with chemical structure manipulation, visualization, and other important analysis features. The Tripos Chemistry Extensions package also enables other discovery informatics providers to ensure compatibility with KNIME.
