Subject: San Francisco, CA: Statistician at Meta Interfaces
Meta Interfaces is seeking a highly intelligent and motivated
Statistician to join our 20-person team in our downtown San Francisco
office. We've developed patented technology that is on the cutting
edge of web-based multimedia content delivery. Meta Interfaces is a
highly profitable privately-held company. The company has quadrupled
its revenue each of the last two years. Our rapid expansion and focus
on the consumer segment requires a MS- or Ph.D.-level statistician to
analyze our vast data and extract meaningful observations and
recommendations to drive our business.
The Statistician role is a senior position and s/he will report
directly to the Director of Engineering. Compensation will be highly
competitive with goal-based bonuses on a semi-annual basis. This
position is perfect for someone who feels disillusioned with

Responsibilities and Duties
- Create framework to optimize websites through Multivariable Testing
- Extract meaningful patterns in our customer data through cluster analysis
- Deliver research findings to the senior management team and provide tangible customer and market insight
- Create the analytical basis for new business models, features, content
Skills Required
- MS or Ph.D. in statistics, math, computer science, physics, economics or other related field
- Excellent quantitative skills, significant experience with survey design, sampling, and data analysis
- Expertise with statistical data analysis (e.g. multivariate regression, principal components analysis, and time series analysis). Experience using statistical tools such as SPSS, SAS, R, Matlab or equivalent a must
- SQL skills a plus
- Exceptional problem solving abilities and experience synthesizing disparate and sometimes contradictory data
- Excellent presentation and writing skills are a must
- Ability to work in a self-motivated, fast-paced startup culture
The primary way that Meta Interfaces uses its technology to make money
is by creating and maintaining one of the best adult video sites on
the web (VideoBox dot com). We license adult DVDs to populate the site
with content and then direct internet traffic to the site. Needless to
say, you must be comfortable working in an environment where you will
be exposed to adult content.
