Are you passionate about helping Microsoft build stronger relationships with our on-line customers? Would you like to improve the experience of hundreds of millions of Internet users by providing actionable customer and market insights to product planners and product marketers? Do you enjoy working on a high-performance team providing research leadership to help solve the complex marketing and product challenges faced by Microsoft�s Online Business Group? If so, there is an exciting opening in the Data Sciences team.

The candidate will be responsible for translating data driven analysis into actionable insight that impacts the way the Online Services Group develops products, targets customers and go to market plans. You will also provide leadership to the team to assure all our data assets and our analytical efforts produce actionable strategic insights that are well understood among internal customers and lead to concrete actions and decisions. These actions and decisions should impact the plans of product marketers and our go to market teams in a way that improves customer satisfaction, loyalty and revenue. Key to achieving this outcome is utilizing our data assets and staff of Analysts to identify market and marketing opportunities. The resulting insight should act as a catalyst for strategy development. Responsibilities will also include developing and managing the Data Sciences Research budget and helping to manage the work flow to assure timely delivery of our work.

Skills/Experience:

  • Ability to convert in-depth, complex analysis into written management presentations that powerfully articulate the key insights critical to management and marketers
  • The art of persuasion, both written and verbal are essential as are Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Market Research or Financial background a plus
  • Technical, analytical, and strategic skills coupled with tenacity for execution and actionable delivery
  • Solid understanding of statistics, data base marketing concepts and analytical software applications (SAS, SPSS, SQL a plus)
  • The ability to work cross-group and communicate at various levels including corporate, regional, and with product groups is necessary
  • Demonstrated leadership skills - balancing consultation and problem-solving is critical
Qualifications:

  • An MBA in finance, computer science or marketing
  • 10+ years of marketing and communications experience working on high visibility projects that drove demonstrated results
  • Team management is required
  • Must be willing to relocate to Redmond, Washington
