Subject: PhD Studentship in Data Mining / Machine Learning at BYU

Applications are invited for a PhD studentship in the Data Mining Lab at Brigham Young University (http://dml.cs.byu.edu), to cover tuition and living expenses.

The following are research areas of interest to the Data Mining Lab:

  • Meta-learning and data mining process automation
  • Implicit affinity networks and social network analysis
  • Transfer learning
  • Record linkage
  • Incremental learning
  • Semantic-driven text-based tasks (e.g., IR, text categorization)
  • Applications of data mining to eCommerce
