Job Description: The mission of the Business Intelligence function within Inside Sales is to identify and translate market opportunities into actionable recommendations that enable the organization to drive incremental revenue, wallet share and preference through deeper penetration of its customer base.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to building and implementing the Business Intelligence Strategy, Goals and Initiatives for Inside Sales with a focus on potential market opportunity, market penetration and customer valuation models.
This process will involve working closely with a cross-section of stakeholders (from executive team, sales management, sales reps, support functions) to gather requests, identify common needs, develop initiatives and prioritize deliverables and socialize the strategy with stakeholders.

  • Responsible for performing strategic market analysis (on worldwide and theater basis) in the SMB space by integrating internal customer level data, external firmagraphic information and macro-economic data.

    This analysis would provide: 1) multi-dimensional views of the commercial mid-market place (including segment/vertical, company size bands, product and technology, and competitors) and be used to evaluate of specific sales territories; and 2) 360 degree of customers providing visibility into market penetration.
  • Also lead and manage ad hoc market analysis and custom research projects as required to meet stakeholder needs across all levels of the organization (from theatre level down to specific sales areas).

    This would involve the end-to-end process from defining/scoping the objective and business problem to be solved, performing the data mining/analysis, analyzing findings, and communicating actionable recommendation to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other market intelligence functions across the company (including CMO, field marketing, channels marketing, segment marketing, technology marketing) to
    1. ensure a consistent, holistic view of the market
    2. ensure adoption of consistent process/methodologies/source data (modeling, assumptions, use of external data sources)
    3. review findings and share best practices
    4. leverage best-in-class research and e) participate as appropriate on any company wide research projects/initiatives/task force.
  • Collaborate with external groups such sales finance controller team and field marketing teams to
    1. ensure all data sources are leveraged for comprehensive analysis
    2. to review data findings, analysis and recommendations
    3. develop marketing programs.
  • Partner closely with the Inside Sales Systems & Architecture team to automate deliverables, develop process for tracking/measuring the impact of recommendations and develop scalable solution for delivery of analysis/information to the stakeholder community.
Skills/Experience Required:
  • Strong academic background in Economics, Statistics or related field. Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years prior experience in business/marketing intelligence field analyzing voluminous data to identify specific actionable opportunities and highlight potential growth areas.
  • Ability combine strong analytical skills with business knowledge.
  • Ability to develop and evolve long-term strategies while driving tactical projects.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships at all levels of the organization both within Inside Sales function as well as outside (Marketing, Sales, Finance, Technology groups etc.)
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills required to communicate analysis, findings and recommendations to customers
  • Proficient with tools/applications for statistical analysis and database querying such as SAS, Business Objects, EssBase
