Job Description
PricewaterhouseCoopers' Center for Advanced Research (CAR) seeks an outstanding Research Programmer to help design, develop, and test a next-generation software system that analyzes a client's detailed financial data for risks of fraud or error. An initial prototype of the system is now functioning, and is primarily written in Matlab, but needs to be extended with several operational and algorithmic improvements. We seek a programmer with experience in a research environment to assist with the software's development.

The research programmer is expected to work as part of a team, assisting with the design, development, documentation, and testing of the software. Specific responsibilities include: maintaining and documenting existing code, improving the scalability of the data processing algorithms, conducting experiments to evaluate algorithm changes, and implementing new statistical and data processing algorithms. The programmer will work closely with computer scientists, statisticians, and data modelers, to ensure the software meets performance goals.

Years Experience Required: 2 - 5

Education Required
B.S. or M.S. degree in CS, EE, or similar quantitative discipline.

Job Requirements

• Three or more years programming experience is required. Experience in an industrial research and development environment preferred.
• One year or more Matlab programming experience is highly preferred,
• Experience applying data mining and statistical algorithms is highly preferred
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills required.
• Good interpersonal skills required, including a demonstrated ability to work well in a group made up of team leads, extraordinary technical resources, project managers, architects, and external consultants
