Sense Networks, a well-funded, fast growing intelligence company, is looking for talented and experienced individuals with strong data mining experience to join our team in the Manhattan office. We are pushing the frontier of machine learning algorithms that analyze massive spatiotemporal datasets. Location based intelligence is our theme, advanced analytics our strength. The successful candidate must have a strong background in applied statistical data analysis, be able to work productively in a team environment and effectively present ideas to people of varying technical backgrounds.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Support our overall spatiotemporal data mining research.
• Lead our applied Bayesian data analysis endeavors.
• Improve on existing time series methods.
• Adapt resampling techniques to complex models.
• Rapid prototyping of new algorithmic ideas and concepts.
• Interact and work with leading scientists from Columbia and MIT

• MS/PhD in Statistics or Computer Science with outstanding credentials.
• >= 3 years experience working with large unstructured data sets.
• Broad competencies in areas such as design of experiments, rule mining, anomaly detection, bootstrap and de-noising techniques.
• Experience in either spatiotemporal information retrieval, or geostatistical pattern analysis or Amazon style recommender systems a great plus.
• Prior publications in leading conferences a plus.
• Deep knowledge of either Matlab or R or BUGS.
• Experience with kernel methods and graph based algorithms a bonus.
• Exposure to econometrics and/or financial data a boon.
