Job Description NREL's Materials and Computational Sciences Center has an opening for a full-time postdoctoral researcher in computational systems biology. The initial appointment is for one year, with possible renewal for up to three years. The postdoctoral researcher will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to create high-performance computational tools to simulate cellular metabolism on upcoming enterprise-class petascale machines. Initial project focus will be on metabolism surrounding H2 production in a green algal cell. The work will include interfacing with high-throughput experimental -omics work and incorporating results into SBML models using enzymologically inspired rate equations; parameter identification and optimization in these models; adapting and/or programming differential equation solvers for maximum performance on multi-core chip architectures; and, working with other programmers on analytics and GUI integration.
