The ideal candidate will leverage consumer insights to drive the development of new products through the new product development stage gate process. You will be responsible for the development of product marketing strategies, product positioning and promotion and go-to-market plans that help grow the business. You will work closely with a wide range of internal partners including market research, segment marketing, marketing communications, product management and all distribution channels to ensure appropriate design, successful testing and launch of new products to market. You will have the proven ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research efforts and analysis to identify and refine understanding of unmet customer needs within target markets.
  • Socialize process for moving from identification of unmet needs, through new product design and strategic development, financial evaluation, and testing to final product roll-out. Emphasis on speed-to-market balanced by a clear set of success criteria aimed at ensuring profitable, competitively distinct new products.
  • Manage integrated cross functional teams that include Marketing, Market Research, Sales, Product Management, Operations, Service, Claims and others to drive new products through the stage-gate process. Combines voice of customer with internal capabilities to drive product innovation.
  • Maintain in depth evaluation of key competitive products and market positioning relative to needs of target consumers.
  • Prioritize product development and improvement efforts of existing product offerings.
  • Collaborate with segment marketing to develop plans that effectively address target consumer needs.
  • Work closely with marketing communication and other cross functional teams to develop and execute product plans to effectively meet business objectives.
  • Define product messaging roadmap that will inform product communication plans that address business objectives.
  • Lead analysis, interpretation and presentation of key product marketing results to senior marketing team for review.
  • Work as individual contributor to drive product marketing initiatives across functions.
Qualifications::
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Management, or equivalent plus 7-10 years experience in a consumer marketing-driven organization.
  • Have thorough understanding of new product development processes, proven ability to development product marketing strategies and programs across multiple sectors.
  • Highly collaborative. Demonstrated leadership in achieving results.
  • Industry experience in Insurance or closely related industries a strong plus.
  • Solid analytical, organization, communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
