The Analytics Engineering team is looking for an excellent and passionate engineer to work on our recommendation engine. You will be a part of the team that build data-driven features that make extensive use of Hadoop for data processing and works closely with the Search and Social Graph teams. The Recommendation engine is a center piece for LinkedIn and will serve millions of requests with a very tight latency requirement.

Requirements
We are looking for someone with the following qualifications:

• Strong experience with server-side programming
• Expertise in clustering and classification techniques (SVM, NN, Boosting Methods, RF, etc.)
• Experience with Java
• Demonstrated ability to lead "by example" a group of engineers from concept to completion
• Ability to work in a fast paced, test-driven collaborative and iterative programming environment
• At least 5 years of industry experience, with at least 2 years in one or more of the following areas: machine learning, large-scale data mining, statistical mining, recommender systems
• BS/MS or Ph.D in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or other discipline requiring quantitative analysis of experimental data

• Solid understanding of all components of a search engine
• Demonstrated systems skills in areas relevant to a recommender system is a plus
• Experience with Hadoop/Hbase/Pig or Mapreduce/Sawzall/Bigtable is a plus
