The Live Search Core Experience Team is looking for an SDET that is passionate about making Live Search the best search experience on the planet. Search is a huge strategic investment for Microsoft, the goal is to be the next multi-billion dollar business for the company. This is a green field opportunity for an experienced SDET to work in a fast paced incubation team while building up their technical skills.

The web search space has a strong set of competitors (those *other* search companies) with a mature feature set - the immediate challenge is to deliver core functionality while working on killer features that keep users coming back for more. We have an incubation team that is focused on creating those killer features and drawing more users over to Live Search. This team is an integral part of the UX core experience team, having regular interactions with the full feature team.

We are looking for Sr. SDET that is drawn to solving UI testing problems in creative ways. SDET will need to ramp up very quickly in different problem spaces as they will be working on different technologies from release to release as part of the incubation team. As an SDET on our team you will be focused on providing feedback on product design and user scenarios to ensure testability, evaluating and improving the test coverage for areas, deep technical involvement in your feature areas, tracking down and following up on live site issues, and working to improve the overall quality of testing that we do on the Search UI Test team. We usually use vendors for manual testing and expect our SDETs to contribute on feature design, feature quality, automation and building test strategies.

A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Strong design, coding and debugging skills in C++/C#
• 5+ years experience as an SDET
• Strong background in test case design and automation
• Demonstrated experience shipping products (Services a big plus but not required)
• Exceptional test aptitude and expertise in formal and informal testing techniques as well as quality measurement
• Exceptional customer focus and eye for quality
