Dear Dr. Piatetsky-Shapiro, I, along with my colleague (Ananth Grama, Computer Sciences, Purdue University), would like to bring to your attention a special issue of IEEE Computer (Aug 1999) we are putting together on emerging areas of data analysis and mining. Given the wide audience of IEEE Computer, we feel that this special issue provides the community a nice opportunity to take the area to the computing community at large. The deadline for articles for the special issue is January 15th, 1999 (the CFP is at http://computer.org/author/cfp-mag.htm) and we are commited to an expedited review and publication turnaround.
