- XML data, 91% up, from 4.9% in 2011 to 9.3% in 2012
- text (free-form), 51% up, from 25.7% in 2011 to 38.8% in 2012
- social network data, 43% up, from 12.6% in 2011 to 18.0% in 2012
JSON, new data type in 2012, got 8.7%.
The data types with the declining popularity were
