SAP, Google integrate Enterprise Analytics and Maps

bring together business analytics software and location-based data capabilities to help users make better business decisions.

SiliconAngle, Robert Manto, July 29, 2011

Mobile phone SAP AG is teaming up with Google to bring together business analytics software and location-based data capabilities to help users make better business decisions. The two companies announced the collaboration last Wednesday at the Silicon Valley Summit, which would incorporate Google's Maps and Earth software to SAP's business analytics tools.

The German company SAP is working with Google to further enhance its enterprise applications with visualized geographical data through Google's dynamic, interactive map, satellite and street-level views. This enables enterprises to analyze their business in a "geospatial context" to have a better grasp on real time events as well as regional and local trends.

The updated offerings from this collaboration will be available in the upcoming releases of SAP enterprise products. However, there is no confirmation yet on whether the Google APIs will be available to existing customers as part of their SAP maintenance payments.
