SLP InfoWare and Novabase Team to Deliver Predictive CRM to the Wireless and Telecom Operators of Brazil and Portugal

PARIS and LISBON, Portugal--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 2, 2001--SLP InfoWare, a Gemplus company (NASDAQ: GEMP), and Novabase (Reuters: NBA.IN; Bloomberg: NBA PL), a leading Portuguese IT company, said today that the companies have entered in to a distribution agreement to work together in the burgeoning wireless and telecom markets of Portugal and Brazil.

With prepaid customers comprising a major portion of both markets, SLP InfoWare and Novabase are uniquely positioned to provide operators tools they need to combat churn, reduce bad debt risk and increase their average revenue per user. The partnership formalizes a professional relationship which was recently strengthened through Novabase's implementation of SLP InfoWare's predictive CRM software for the world's leading prepaid wireless carrier, Telecomunicacoes Moveis Nacionais. TMN uses SLP InfoWare's software to leverage its prepaid customer traffic data and identify behaviors associated with non-renewal, allowing the company to act to retain prepaid customers before their accounts expire. Today, Novabase continues to work with TMN to conduct their prepaid customer retention project which runs on SLP InfoWare's products.
