Psychogenics, Inc. is a small and growing company developing new methods for CNS drug discovery. Their focus is on developing in vivo behavioral assays and data mining methods to discover new drugs with them.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a Director of Bioinformatics to lead the research and development of algorithms and software for Psychogenics' drug discovery activities. This person will work on a team of PhDs from various bioinformatics related fields and supervise one or more programmers to develop and test new data mining algorithms, and integrate these algorithms into a drug discovery software tool for internal use. They will also write technical reports and academic publications, assist in fund raising efforts, and have some interaction with clients.

REQUIREMENTS:

• PhD in Computer Science or Statistics with a focus on Machine Learning.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, and/or Java.
• Strong statistics background.
• Relevant industrial experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of post-PhD experience in research and management.

• Experience with SQL and database APIs.
• Experience with GUI design and development.
• Familiarity with common commercial data mining and statistical packages.
