The American Nurses Association has announced a new initiative that will allow researchers to tap into the organization's quality indicator database to evaluate links between nursing performance and patient outcomes, Modern Healthcare reports.
ANA launched its National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators in 1998. The database includes quarterly data on 18 nursing quality measures from more than 1,500 hospitals across the country.
As part of its new initiative, ANA created a new 15-member board to review research proposals based on the database. The group also created a platform for researchers to submit proposals online.
