Subject: Leo Breiman elected into National Academy of Sciences

Leo Breiman, a co-creator of the CART(R) decision tree has received one of the highest honors available to scientists and engineers. On May 1, 2001 Leo was elected to National Academy of Sciences for his seminal work in classification and pattern recognition. About 1 in 10 members of the academy go on to win Nobel prizes.
